What we collect when you call the booking desk, why we need it, who we hand it to, and how to get it corrected or deleted. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

Who we are
Wayfare Travel Desk operates this website and the booking desk reachable on (844) 213-5611. We are an independent travel agency. We are not an airline, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as a customer-service channel for any airline.
For anything in this policy you can reach us by phone on (844) 213-5611, by email at desk@wayfaretraveldesk.com, or by post at [Add your registered business address].
This policy explains what we collect when you browse the site or call the desk, why we collect it, who we pass it to, and how to get it changed or removed. It applies to the website and to telephone bookings made through it.
Information you give us on the phone
Booking a flight requires details the airline demands before it will issue a ticket. When you call, we may collect:
- The full legal name of each traveller, exactly as printed on their travel document
- Date of birth, and gender where the airline requires it for the fare or the passenger type
- Passport or other travel document number, issuing country and expiry date on international itineraries
- Contact details — telephone number and email address — so the airline and we can reach you about the trip
- Payment card details, taken to authorise the specific amount you have agreed
- Anything you choose to tell us about the trip: preferred times, seat or meal needs, accessibility requirements, or loyalty programme numbers
We ask for what the ticket needs and nothing beyond it. If you are not sure why a particular detail is needed, ask the person on the call to explain before you give it. That is a reasonable question and it will get a direct answer.
Some accessibility, medical or dietary requests count as sensitive information. We pass those to the airline only where you have asked us to arrange the relevant assistance, and we do not use them for anything else.
Information collected when you browse
The website is deliberately simple. It has no login, no shopping cart and no tracking-based advertising. When you visit, our hosting provider processes standard technical information — IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and the time of the request — in order to serve the site and keep it secure.
We use this only in aggregate, to understand which pages people read and to diagnose faults. We do not build advertising profiles from it and we do not combine it with your booking record.
We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we later add any analytics or cookie that is not strictly necessary to run the site, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
Call recording
We may record or monitor calls to the booking desk for training, quality and to keep an accurate record of what was quoted and agreed. Where we do, you will be told at the start of the call.
If you would prefer not to be recorded, say so when the call connects. We will either stop the recording or arrange another way to help you.
Recordings are kept only as long as they are useful for the purposes above, and are covered by the retention limits set out below.
Why we use your information
We use what you give us for these purposes and no others:
- To search fares and availability and to quote you a price
- To issue, reissue, refund or cancel tickets and related travel services
- To pass the details the airline or other supplier requires to complete your booking
- To take payment for an amount you have specifically authorised
- To contact you about your trip — confirmations, schedule changes, cancellations or disruption
- To meet legal, tax, accounting and anti-fraud obligations that apply to travel agents
- To handle complaints and to resolve disputes about what was agreed
We do not use your information to advertise to you, and we do not send marketing email or texts unless you have asked us to. If you ever do opt in, every message will carry a one-click way out.
How long we keep it
Booking records, invoices and correspondence are kept for as long as the tax, accounting and liability rules that apply to travel agents require — typically several years after the trip is completed. Keeping them is what lets us evidence what was agreed if a dispute arises later.
Call recordings and enquiry notes that did not turn into a booking are kept for a much shorter period and then deleted.
We do not keep full payment card numbers after a transaction has settled.
Once a record is past its retention period it is deleted or anonymised.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to booking records is limited to the staff who need it to do their job, and card payments are handled through our payment processor rather than being written down or stored by the desk.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information and creates a real risk to you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Beware of anyone contacting you out of the blue claiming to be us and asking for a card number or a full passport number to "confirm" a booking. If a call feels wrong, hang up and dial the desk directly on the number published on this site.
Your rights over your information
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. We honour them regardless of whether your local law compels us to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Have inaccurate details corrected — important if a name was misspelled against a travel document
- Ask us to delete information we no longer have a legal reason to keep
- Object to or ask us to restrict a particular use of your information
- Ask us to transfer your details to another provider in a portable format
- Withdraw consent, where we relied on your consent to use something
- Tell us not to call you again, which we will action immediately
To exercise any of these, call (844) 213-5611 or email desk@wayfaretraveldesk.com. We will respond within the timeframe the applicable law sets, and within 30 days in any event. We will not charge you for a reasonable request and we will not treat you worse for making one.
We may need to confirm who you are before releasing booking details — that protection exists for your benefit, not ours.
Note that some rights have limits. We cannot delete a ticketing record we are legally obliged to retain, and we cannot remove details already lodged with an airline or a border authority.
Children's information
This site is aimed at adults booking travel, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.
We do handle details of children who are travelling as passengers, but we take those from the adult making the booking, who is responsible for having the authority to provide them.
Links to other sites
We may point you to an airline or supplier website — to check in, or to look up your booking with the record locator we gave you. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
Always confirm you are on the airline’s genuine domain before entering personal details there.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and move the "last updated" date at the top.
Where a change materially affects rights you already have in relation to a live booking, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you to re-read the page.
How to complain
Come to us first — call (844) 213-5611 or email desk@wayfaretraveldesk.com and we will try to sort it out directly.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the data protection or consumer protection authority for your country or state. Doing so does not affect any other legal right you have.
