Some trips fit in a search box. Plenty don't — three cities, five passengers, a connection that has to hold, a schedule the airline changed last night. Call the desk and we'll price the awkward version properly.

Worth a phone call

A simple return on one airline? Book it yourself — we'll tell you so. These are the trips where a desk actually beats a form.

Multi-city and open-jaw

Fly into one city, out of another, with a train leg in between. The kind of routing that search boxes quietly refuse to price.

Groups and families

Six people, four bags and two connections that need to actually work. We hold seats together rather than scattering them.

Changes and rebooking

A cancelled leg at 6am is a phone problem, not a form problem. We rebook and tell you what it costs before anything is charged.

Fare rules in plain words

What the bag costs, whether the seat is assigned, what happens if you miss it. Read out loud, before you commit.

Where people are asking about

Four routes we know well

We don't post fares here — a price we can't currently see isn't worth quoting. Call and we'll price your dates live.

Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon

LISPortugal

Often the cheapest doorway into Europe. Worth asking about an open-jaw back out of Madrid or Seville.

Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo

HNDJapan

Haneda and Narita price very differently on the same dates. We check both before quoting anything.

What happens when you ring

  1. 01

Tell us the shape of the trip

Where from, roughly when, how many of you, and what actually matters — arriving before dark, a short layover, a fixed budget. No account, no form.

  2. 02

We price the options and read them back

Usually two or three routings, with the trade-offs said out loud: the cheaper one connects twice, the pricier one gets you in at noon. Any service fee is quoted here, before you decide.

  3. 03

You decide, then we ticket it

Nothing is charged until you say yes to a specific price. The confirmation and airline record locator land in your inbox while you are still on the call.

What we do, and what we don't

Plenty of numbers on the internet blur this line. Here it is spelled out, so you know what you're getting before you dial.

The desk does

  • Search and compare published airline fares
  • Book, ticket and reissue on your behalf
  • Quote our service fee before you commit to anything
  • Send the airline confirmation number directly to you

The desk does not

  • Operate flights — every ticket is on a real airline
  • Claim any airline partnership, endorsement or agency
  • Charge a card before you have agreed a specific total
  • Guarantee a fare we have not actually priced for you

Questions people ask first

Anything not covered here is fair game on the call. Ask us what the fee is before you give us a single detail — that's a normal question and it gets a straight number.

Who am I actually calling?

Wayfare Travel Desk, an independent travel agency. We are not an airline and we are not an airline's customer-service line. If you need to speak to the carrier about an existing booking you made elsewhere, we will tell you that and point you to their number instead of keeping you on the phone.

What does it cost to use the desk?

You pay the airline fare plus our service fee. The fee depends on how complex the itinerary is, so we quote it on the call, out loud, before you agree to anything. If you would rather book it yourself once you know the routing, that is a reasonable outcome and we will not argue with you.

Why call instead of booking online?

For a simple round trip on one airline, booking online is usually fine and we will say so. Calling earns its keep when the itinerary is awkward: multiple cities, a group travelling together, an infant, a visa-driven layover limit, or a schedule change that has already broken your plans.

Can you match a price I found somewhere else?

Sometimes, and sometimes not — it depends on the fare class and whether it is still available when we look. We will check it properly and tell you either way rather than promising first and walking it back later.

How do I know the booking is real?

Every ticket comes with an airline record locator, a six-character code you can enter directly on the operating airline’s own website to see your booking. We send it as soon as the ticket issues. If a code does not check out, that is a reason to call us back immediately.

What happens to my details?

We take what the airline needs to issue a ticket and nothing beyond it. We do not sell contact details on to third parties. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is collected, why, and how to ask us to delete it.

Tell us the trip. We'll tell you the options.

No form, no account, no card until you've agreed a price.
